The pre-famine derelict outbuildings at Cnoc Bui are among the oldest surviving buildings in the locality. A priority for Cnoc Buí is to restore these buildings for flexible use as additional exhibition, meeting, administrative and storage space. To this end, Cnoc Buí is in the process of applying for grant funding under the LEADER programme for Rural Development – a funding opportunity that comes along just once every 5 years. The maximum LEADER grant of €200,000 obliges us to raise matched funding of €66,000. While various fund-raising events are planned, we hope that a one-off “Fund-Raising Art Exhibition” that involves its Artist/Members together with an associated “Art Auction” would go some way towards generating the €66,000 required.
